Spike Lee rounds out cast for his upcoming veteran Netflix drama ‘Da 5 Bloods’

ABC/Eric McCandless(LOS ANGELES) — Spike Lee is steadily rounding out the cast of his upcoming Vietnam vet drama Da 5 Bloods.

According to Deadline, The Wire alums Clarke Peters and Isiah Whitlock Jr. have joined the cast of Lee’s film, along with Norm LewisMélanie Thierry and BlacKkKlansman actor Jasper Pääkkönen.

They join previously announced cast members Chadwick Boseman, Jean Reno, Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, and Paul Walter Hauser.

As previously noted, the film, co-written and directed by Lee, centers on a group of Vietnam vets who, “go back to the jungle to find their lost innocence and put their broken selves back together.”

This project marks the Lee’s first directing job for Netflix. The director and newly-minted Oscar-winning screenwriter currently executive-produces the Netflix TV series adaptation of his 1986 film, She’s Gotta Have It, and will also produce the time-travel tale See You Yesterday.
