CBS hires outside law firms to investigate sexual misconduct allegations against CEO Les Moonves

In a statement released Wednesday, the company says the board of directors “approved the retention of Covington & Burling and Debevoise & Plimpton to conduct a full investigation of the allegations in recent press reports about Chairman and CEO Leslie Moonves, CBS News and cultural issues at all levels of CBS.”

The investigation stems from an article by Ronan Farrow published in The New Yorker last Friday alleging Moonves sexually harassed six women with whom he had professional dealings between the 1980s and early 2000s.

Moonves has denied the allegations.
