The time to run from an accident is before the police are inside your vehicle.
After a Sunday afternoon wreck on Colfax Avenue, Denver officers found a man slumped over in a running GMC Yukon. One officer climbed in to shut off the engine and help him. The driver suddenly woke up, threw the SUV in gear, and sped away with the officer trapped beside him.
Police pulled a precision move a few blocks later, nudging the Yukon into a light pole and ending the chase. The suspect was arrested on the spot.
No one was hurt, but the case is still under review.
