Party like it’s your birthday: John Travolta shows off his dad-dance moves during 50 Cent’s Cannes performance

Photo by Gisela Schober/Getty Images(CANNES) — Thanks to 50 Cent, John Travolta brought some of his Saturday Night Fever dances moves to a Tuesday night party at the Cannes Film Festival.

In a video posted by 50, Travolta’s seen dancing next to the rapper as he performs his hit, “Just A Lil Bit.” Travolta’s impromptu freestyle, which includes some seriously dad-like custom moves, was applauded by the crowd.

50 captioned his video, “Me and John Travolta partying. I swear I only came out here because of him.”

Prior to the party, 50 posted an Instagram photo of him and John at the festival.

“You gotta check out my John Travolta’s new movie Gotti he is great in it,” 50 wrote, captioning a photo of them standing side-by-side.

Gotti, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday, stars Travolta as the late and legendary New York mobster John Gotti. The biopic also star Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston as Gotti’s wife, Victoria.

Willow Smith says the pressure of fame made her cut herself

Photo by Tim Mosenfelder/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — During the latest episode of Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Facebook show, Red Table Talk, Smith’s daughter Willow opened up about the time she felt she lost her sanity.

“I feel like I lost my sanity at one point,” Willow revealed to her mother and grandmother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones. “It was after that whole “Whip My Hair” thing and I just had stopped doing singing lessons and I was kind of like, just in this gray area of, ‘Who am I? Do I have a purpose? Is there anything, like, I can do besides this?’”

Willow, now 17, was just nine years old when her single “Whip My Hair” was released.

“After the tour and the promotion and all of that, they wanted me to finish my album,” Willow explains. “And I was just like, ‘No, I’m not gonna do that.'”

She continues, “And after all of that kinda settled down and it was just like a kind of lull. Like I was just listening to a lot of dark music, and it was just so crazy and I was just like plunged into this black hole, and I was, like, cutting myself.”

The news of her cutting stuns both Jada and her mother, with the two of them inquiring who else knew about her struggles.

“I never talk about it because it was such a short, weird point in my life, but you have to pull yourself out of it,” says Willow. “I honestly felt like I was experiencing so much emotional pain, but my physical circumstances weren’t reflecting that.”

Willow says she eventually came out of that dark place and stopped hurting herself after deeming her actions “psychotic.”

The latest episode of Red Table Talk is available now available on Facebook.

Will Adele agree to audition for a starring role in an “Oliver!” remake?

Alasdair McLellan(LONDON) — Now here’s a strange…Twist. The British tabloid The Sun claims that a remake of the 1968 movie musical Oliver! is in the works, and they want the Grammy and Oscar-winning superstar to take a lead role in the Oliver Twist adaptation. The only catch is, she’ll have to audition.

According to The Sun, the producers of the remake want Adele to play the lead female role of Nancy.  But just because she’s one of the best singers in the world today doesn’t mean she can also act, so that’s why the producers want her to try out.

A source tells the paper, “[They’re] still really keen to get Adele on board but they will not be seen to be giving her preferential treatment.  They know she has a world-class voice but want to see if she can sustain that while also acting and dancing. It’s going to be a huge production and they need to cast the right people with enough stamina.”

Theater impresario Cameron Macintosh, who produced Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon and Cats, is supposedly involved in the Oliver! remake.

The source dished, “There’s been a few bumps in the road on the project but everybody is quietly hopeful that once they get Adele in front of the [producers], they can move forward.”

Of course, Adele’s never publicly said she was interested in this movie project — or any movie project, actually — so take The Sun’s report with a grain of salt.

The 1968 film version of Oliver!, based on the Charles Dickens classic Oliver Twist, won six Oscars.

Pauley Perrette responds to CBS statement on “multiple physical assaults” tweets

Photo: Patrick McElhenney/CBS ©2018 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved(LOS ANGELES) — Pauley Perrette, who recently left CBS’ NCIS after 15 seasons, thanked the network for its response to her tweets over the weekend suggesting she was the victim of “multiple physical assaults.”

“Pauley Perrette had a terrific run on NCIS and we are all going to miss her,” said CBS in a statement on Tuesday, according to Deadline. “Over a year ago, Pauley came to us with a workplace concern. We took the matter seriously and worked with her to find a resolution. We are committed to a safe work environment on all our shows.”

“I want to thank my studio and network CBS. They have always been so good to me and always had my back,” Perrette responded.

The 49-year-old actress posted a series of cryptic tweets on Sunday that began, “I refused to go low, that’s why I’ve never told publicly what happened. But there are tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies about me…”

“Maybe I’m wrong for not ‘spilling the beans’ Telling the story, THE TRUTH,” she continued. “I feel I have to protect my crew, jobs and so many people. But at what cost?…Just know, I’m trying to do the right thing, but maybe silence isn’t the right thing about crime… ?”

Added Perrette, “There is a “machine’ keeping me silent, and feeding FALSE stories about me.  A very rich, very powerful publicity ‘machine.’ No morals, no obligation to truth, and I’m just left here, reading the lies, trying to protect my crew. Trying to remain calm. He did it.”

“I’ve been supporting ant-bullying [sic] programs forever. But now I KNOW because it was ME! If it’s school or work, that you’re required to go to? It’s horrifying. I left. Multiple Physical Assaults…” she concluded.

Perrette’s final NCIS episode aired last Friday.

Stan Lee sues his former company Pow! Entertainment for $1 billion

ABC/Richard Cartwright(LOS ANGELES) — Comic-book legend Stan Lee, who created some of Marvel’s biggest superheroes, filed a lawsuit against his former company, Pow! Entertainment, Tuesday, citing his business partners took advantage of his poor eyesight and the fact that he was mourning his wife, Variety reports. Lee is suing for $1 billion.

When Lee sold his company last year to Camsing International Holding in China, he said he was suffering from macular degeneration, which weakens eyesight. According to the suit, CEO Shane Duffy and Gill Champion used this health condition against him and swindled him into signing over his name. He says the two tricked him into signing away exclusive rights to his name, image and likeness. Lee even claims the two forged his signature.

In addition to his declining vision, Lee says he did not know nor understand the terms of the contract because he was mourning the death of his wife.

He now wants $1 billion and his name back.

Lee is no stranger to legal issues lately. He also filed suit last month against his former publicist and business manager Jerardo Olivarez, whom Lee claims stole $1.4 million.

Lee created or co-created some of Marvel’s most recognizable characters, like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, and The Avengers, in the 1960s. He founded Pop! Entertainment in 2001.

Deadpool crashes Stephen Colbert’s late-night monologue, pokes fun at President Trump

Scott Kowalchyk/CBS ©2018 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.(NEW YORK) — Taking a break from fighting crime and saving the world, Deadpool tried to crush something else: a late-night monologue.

The superhero, played by Ryan Reynolds, crashed Stephen Colbert’s monologue during Tuesday’s episode of The Late Show to promote Deadpool 2, which premieres Friday.

Colbert starts by pointing out the number of superhero blockbusters that have already premiered this year, including Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther.

“At what point will audiences say, ‘Enough with the superheroes’?” he asks just as Deadpool enters the frame from behind Colbert, answering, “Is it Deadpool 2? I bet it’s Deadpool 2.”

After a quip about the show’s guest Jamie Foxx being from Back to the Future, Deadpool attempted to finish Colbert’s monologue and reads off the cue cards.

“The administration is still dealing with the fallout from Trump announcing that the U.S. will be pulling out of the Iran deal. It’s Trump’s biggest pulling out blunder since Eric,” he said with the character’s signature deadpan.

In another joke, he brought up the Trump scandal around alleged urinating prostitutes in Russia.

“President Trump spent the day on Twitter complaining about leaks inside the White House, because we all know Trump prefers his leaks in Russian hotel rooms,” he quipped.

At the end of the monologue, Deadpool appears to disintegrate a la Infinity War, and in a “bonus scene” at the very end of The Late Show, Colbert sweeps up Deadpool’s powdered remains and pours them into a drink.

Deadpool 2 drops into theaters Friday.

Jordin Althaus/FOX(LOS ANGELES) — Lethal Weapon star Damon Wayans took to social media on Monday night to air out the details of the reported feud between him and his recently-fired co-star Clayne Crawford.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, captured by the The Hollywood Reporter, Wayans went online to address the “Twitter outrage” and allegations against Crawford that reportedly led to his firing from the Fox series.

“How does the shrapnel from this hit me on the opposite side of the head? #directedby @claynecrawford,” he wrote, sharing a photo of an injury to his head.

Spencer Christian’s memoir, “You Bet Your Life,” shares an important message

Post Hill Press, 2018(NEW YORK) — Spencer Christian became a household name as weatherman, feature reporter and co-host of Good Morning America during the late 70s and early 80s. While he managed to maintain his public persona, Christian struggled with a serious gambling addiction, which he documents in his new memoir You Bet Your Life: How I Survived Jim Crow Racism, Hurricane Chasing, and Gambling.

With his gambling addiction is behind him, Christian is opening up about his story and the important message he has.

“I’m hoping people will see that even someone whose life seems perfect on the surface as mine may have seemed to some people — we all have problems,” Christian tells ABC Radio. “We all have fears, failures, flaws, self-doubt and sometimes self-loathing. Even when you feel you’ve hit rock bottom, you can rebuild, you can recover.”

According to Christian, it’s a lot of hard work to “repair damaged relationships” and to reclaim one’s life after a seemingly debilitating fall. However, he believes if he can do it, anyone can.

“And that’s what I hope people will get from this — I hope that my falling to rock bottom, several times, and bouncing, back will serve as a source of hope that anyone facing any kind of adversity or difficulty can can bounce back,” he says.

You Bet Your Life: How I Survived Jim Crow Racism, Hurricane Chasing, and Gambling is available now from Post Hill Books.

Ryan Reynolds talks “Deadpool 2”, and his daughter’s budding career as singer

ABC(NEW YORK) — Hours after the New York premiere of Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds stopped by Good Morning America to talk about the new film, his life as a father to two girls, and more.

With the bar set set so high after the success of the first movie in 2016, Reynolds said he’s happy that most of the initial reviews for Deadpool 2 have been positive because he has an “unquenchable thirst for approval.” He said the acclaim is a reflection of the work everyone involved in the movie did.

“It’s the role of a lifetime for me,” Reynolds said of his potty-mouthed hero.

The role of a lifetime needed the soundtrack of a lifetime, and Deadpool 2 went for a legend in Celine Dion. Her new song for the film is called “Ashes” and also features Reynolds’ character in the music video.

While thinking about whom they could sign on for the soundtrack, Reynolds said he thought about who had the last great ballad for a movie. What immediately came to mind was Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On,” from Titanic.

“So, I wrote her a letter,” he revealed. “Somehow, some way, she said, ‘Yes.'”

But Dion may have some competition if and when Deadpool 3 arrives because Reynolds may have a budding singer at home. The father of two girls with wife Blake Lively recently found out his daughter James was featured in the Taylor Swift song, “Gorgeous.”

“That was a voice memo that ended up on a song,” he said. “My daughter has a terrible ego problem after that.”

Even with the ego, Reynolds is happy to be wrapping up promotion for the film so he can “get a couple weeks just to be a dad.”

“I’m excited to stay put for a min,” he told GMA.
