Is ‘Frasier’ the next series to get the revival treatment?

ABC/Lorenzo Bevilaqua(LOS ANGELES) — Tossed salads and scrambled eggs may be callin’ again.

Frasier may be getting a second life, with star and executive producer Kelsey Grammer in talks with CBS Studios to revive the famed sitcom, Deadline reports. While the project is in the early stages, Grammer is allegedly speaking with writers to see how a reboot could be framed 14 years after the original series ended.

CBS Studios has reportedly declined to comment on the news.

The character Frasier was first introduced on NBC’s classic sitcom Cheers and then earned his own spin-off show in 1993 that ran for 11 seasons. The sitcom followed Fraiser Crane, a pompous but good-hearted radio host, and his family and friends in Seattle.

Considered one of the best American sitcoms of all time, it won a then-record total 37 Emmys, including five consecutive wins for Outstanding Comedy Series.

If renewed, Frasier would join the growing list of TV sitcoms getting reboots, including Will & Grace, Roseanne, and Murphy Brown.
