Walton County, Georgia, Marine Corps veteran and single father Nickolas recently received a new home through a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Warrick Dunn Charities.
The surprise included a $5-thousand check for his down payment and $10-thousand in furniture provided by Aaron’s. Nickolas, who served in the military for 30 years, will share the home with his daughter and says he’s grateful for the opportunity to build generational wealth.
The effort is part of retired Tampa Bay Bucs running back Warrick Dunn’s “Home for the Holidays” program, which supports first-time homeownership for single parents and veterans.
