(NEW YORK) — After the popularity of Zazie Beetz’s “Champagne Papi” Atlanta episode — in which she and her girlfriends go to a New Year’s Eve party at what they believe is Drake’s house — Beetz says she’s ready for season three to have more woman-centered episodes.
“It was so fun having this girl vibe,” Beetz tells The Hollywood Reporter, referring to the episode, the season’s only female driven installment. “There’s no lack on the set, but I think in terms of storytelling it is different just like bonding with a woman and playing with that energy in terms of Van’s character. So it is something I would like to continue exploring.”
That appears to be an easy ask for Atlanta writer and producer Stephen Glover, who says the next season will involve more woman-centered narratives.
“I think we have some cool ideas in season three that’ll put some more women on screen,” said Glover. “There’s a very specific perspective from the Atlanta woman that I think we’re gonna explore…”
A premiere date for the third season of Atlanta has yet to be announced.
