Six of Barbra Streisand’s classic TV specials will will begin streaming on Netflix beginning on Friday.
As Streisand, 76, announced during a conversation with Jamie Foxx in support of Barbra: The Music…The Mem’ries…The Magic! at Sunday’s 2018 Netflix FYSee event, fans will be able to re-watch her award-winning specials, including 1965’s My Name Is Barbra, 1966’s Color Me Barbra, 1968’s Barbra Streisand: A Happening in Central Park, 1973’s Barbra Streisand and Other Musical Instruments, 1994’s Barbra Streisand: The Concert and 2001’s Barbra Streisand: Timeless.
In addition, Netflix will also present a special edition of Streisand’s 1976 film, A Star Is Born, with never-before-seen footage, including Barbra playing the movie’s Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning theme song, “Evergreen,” on the guitar for co-star Kris Kristofferson. The other previously unreleased scene shows a rock and roll version of the film’s finale, “Watch Closely Now.”
Over a career that’s spanned nearly 50 years, the singer/actress has sold over 150 million albums and singles worldwide and snagged a pair of Oscars, five Emmys, 11 Golden Globes, and a total of 10 Grammys.
