“Big” to celebrate 30th anniversary with a return to theaters

The 1988 Tom Hanks comedy flick, about a 13-year-old boy who has his wish granted to “be big,” is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a return to theaters.  It was released in the U.S. June 3, 1988.

Big will play in more than 700 theaters across the U.S. for two days only, on July 15 and July 18 at 2 p.m. 7 p.m. each day. Theater and ticket information can be found on the Fathom Events website.

Big, directed by Penny Marshall, scored Hanks his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor. It also loosely inspired the 2004 Jennifer Garner film, 13 Going on 30.
