(LOS ANGELES) — This time, for Indiana Jones, it’s not the mileage, it’s the years. That is, the fifth chapter in George Lucas’ adventure series has been delayed again, to 2021.
That change will mean the man in the hat himself, Harrison Ford, will be 79 years old by the time the film opens.
The Hollywood Reporter says script changes prompted the shift from July 9, 2020; it’s the second bump for the fifth installment in the Steven Spielberg-directed franchise, which was initially supposed to come out in 2019.
Disney, the parent company of ABC News, also announced some other schedule changes.
Now, Jungle Cruise, the Dwayne Johnson-led, big screen adaptation of its classic theme park ride, will hit theaters October 11, 2019.
Angelina Jolie’s fantasy sequel Maleficent 2 will now be released on May 29, 2020, and Mary Poppins Returns, starring Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda will hit theaters on December 19, instead of December 25.
