(OREGON) — Actor Henry Thomas, who as a child starred as Elliot in Steven Spielberg’s E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, was arrested Monday night in Washington County, Oregon on DUI charges.
ABC affiliate KATU-TV reports that Thomas, 48, who went on to appear in movies like Saving Private Ryan and who currently stars in the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Monday, after cops were alerted to a driver in a car that wasn’t moving.
Thomas reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was booked on one charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
He apparently spent the night at the Washington County Jail, with cops commenting to KATU that Thomas would be released, “when he’s sober.”
It’s not known whether Thomas phoned home.
