(LOS ANGELES) — The Mother of Dragons herself, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night to talk about what it was like filming last Sunday’s jaw-dropping episode of Game of Thrones, “The Long Night.”
Clarke said the episode even got to her, saying she was “shaking and crying” during a L.A. screening of “The Long Night,” which Jimmy Kimmel also attended.
“It was nuts,” said Emilia. “Being in it, what you saw was really what it was like shooting it,” including blood and mud and angry, screaming people both on set and backstage.
The one-hour, 31-minute episode, helmed by veteran Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik, was shot over the course of 55 “long” nights. Clarke said that part of what made the shoot bearable was being near her brother, who works in the camera department on the show.
Of course, all that hard work pays off when fellow queen Beyoncé fangirls out on you at an Oscars after party, a story Clarke shared, clearly still astonished about the meeting. “She was clearly a fan and I ruined it,” Clarke said about her awkward reaction to meeting Queen Bey.
Clarke also teased what’s still to come in the final season of Game of Thrones, promising “episode five is bigger,” to audible gasps from the audience. “Find the biggest TV you can!” urged Clarke.
There are only six episodes in this, the final season of Game of Thrones. Episode four airs this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO.
