(SCOTLAND) — Most weddings on Game of Thrones end in tragedy, so it’s about time there was a joyful one.
Game of Thrones co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, aka Jon Snow and Ygritte, tied the knot Saturday inside Kirkton of Rayne church in Scotland. A reception, where many of their Game of Thrones co-stars were seen, was held inside Wardhill Castle, after which they adjourned to the Leslie family’s 900-year-old castle, according to People magazine.
Leslie and Harington, both 31, met on the Game of Thrones set six years ago, where they played lovers and fell in love in real life on location in Iceland.
“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” Harington said in an Italian Vogue cover story. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
Harington and Leslie announced their engagement last September in The Times of London newspaper.
Naturally, many Game of Thrones stars attended the wedding. Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, who play sisters Sansa and Arya Stark, arrived together. Also attending were Peter Dinklage, who portrays Tyrion Lannister; Emilia Clarke, who stars as Daenerys Targaryen — and the current Game of Thrones lover to Harington’s Jon Snow — and Liam Cunningham, who plays Stark’s right-hand man, Ser Davos Seaworth.
The wedding will have to satisfy Game of Thrones fans for now. The eighth and final season of the hit fantasy epic won’t premiere until 2019.
