To encourage children under 12-years-old to learn to recite the Pledge of Allegiance from memory, Savannah, Georgia, based ice cream chain Leopold’s Ice Cream launched the “I Pledge Project” back in 2010.
Now in its 14th year, the initiative has expanded to include hundreds of ice cream shops in 42 states across the country.
The project aims to blend patriotism with a love for ice cream, while also promoting civic education among children.
