After losing her engagement ring when her home and studio were destroyed in the Eaton Fire, Jess Miller is receiving a new one thanks to Dejaun Jewelers in Woodland Hills. Miller and her family had to evacuate quickly without grabbing valuables, leaving behind treasured possessions, including her engagement ring.
Although her husband later recovered her wedding band from the site, the diamond engagement ring was lost in the destruction.
But a replacement is coming from Dejaun Jewelers, a family-owned business that’s donating engagement rings to those affected by the Eaton and Palisades Fires. Miller applied for the giveaway and was thrilled to receive a call letting her know she could pick out a new ring.
The store’s director, Eileen Maralian, says they were moved by stories of people searching through rubble for lost rings and wanted to bring back hope to those impacted.
For Miller, receiving a new ring represents a fresh start after the devastation. She describes it as a new memory and says she’s excited and grateful.
Dejaun Jewelers Vice President Michael Maralian shares that their goal was to provide a symbol of love, strength, and resilience for those rebuilding their lives.
