(LOS ANGELES) — Kevin Hart is looking to pull double duty with his next project.
According to Variety, Hart is in talks to headline a remake of the Korean comedy Extreme Job. He is expected to be joined by Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver, who is on board to pen the adapted screenplay.
The comedy will center on a team of narcotics detectives who go undercover at a fried chicken spot as part of a stakeout of an organized crime gang — but hilarity ensues when their chicken recipe suddenly makes the restaurant the hottest place in town to eat.
The film, which was released in January in South Korea, has since become the top-grossing film of all time in the country, earning $127 million. Hart, who will also produce the project, shared his excitement for the new gig.
“…We are always seeking fun projects that tell a story for worldwide audiences, and we could not be more excited to be a part of this one,” said Hart in a statement. “Tracy Oliver is such an incredible writer who will surely bring this story to life.”
There is no word on when the film will hit theaters.
