ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Mike Epps is giving fans a first look of the upcoming Rudy Ray Moore biographical film Dolemite Is My Name!
In an Instagram post on Friday, Epps shared a snap of himself with Murphy in their ’70s attire.
“Bless to be working with the God Father of this Comedy s**t EDDIE MURPHY in the movie ‘DOLOMITE,’” he captions the photo. “I remember watching him as a kid on tv now iam in a movie with him look at God work!!”
As previously reported, the upcoming Netflix film will document the life of Moore, the late actor and producer best known for creating the Dolemite pimp/hustler character on comedy recordings. Moore starred in original Dolemite movie and three sequels.
In addition to Murphy and Epps, the film stars Wesley Snipes, Craig Robinson, T.I., Keegan-Michael Key, Tituss Burgess and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
Hustle and Flow’s Craig Brewster will direct the movie; there’s no release date as of yet.
