(LOS ANGELES) — Morgan Freeman is taking on his next project with guns blazing.
According to Deadline, the Oscar winner has officially signed on for the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard, the sleeper hit action comedy starring Deadpool‘s Ryan Reynolds and Captain Marvel‘s Samuel L. Jackson.
In the upcoming installment, Reynolds, Jackson, and Selma Hayek reprise their respective characters of Michael Bryce, Darius Kincaid and his mysterious wife Sonia, who this time ’round take on a new mission along the Amalfi Coast.
Freeman’s character has yet to be revealed.
On Tuesday, Jackson shared a glimpse of himself getting suited up for his character.
“Heeeeee’s Baaaaaaack!,” Samuel wrote, captioning a series of photos showing off his character’s tattoos. “Darius Kincaid in all his Profanely Lethal Glory!! #hitmanswifesbodyguard #itsamurderofcrows.”
This is the latest project for Freeman, who was last seen in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Up next, Freeman will star in the Olympus Has Fallen sequel Angel Has Fallen.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard 2 is slated to begin filming this month.
