(LOS ANGELES) — A brand-new trailer gives an eye-popping look at Alita: Battle Angel, the adaptation of a sci-fi manga classic directed by Robert Rodriguez, who co-wrote the project with James Cameron.
The film stars Oscar-winner Christophe Waltz as a doctor who, in a dystopian future, revives a cyborg named Alita, played by a CG-effects-enhanced Rosa Salazar. As she struggles to regain her memory, she unlocks incredible fighting abilities and a dark past.
The new coming attraction also gives us a look at the movie’s co-stars, who include Oscar-winners Mahershala Ali and Jennifer Connelly. They play, respectively, the villainous allies Vector and Chiren. The clip also shows Alita doing battle with other cyborgs, including one played by original Deadpool baddie Ed Skrein.
Alita: Battle Angel opens December 21, 2018.
