(LOS ANGELES) — Regina King is officially joining the Netflix family.
King, who earlier this year won an Oscar for her performance in If Beale Street Could Talk and an Emmy for her role in Netflix’s limited series, Seven Seconds, has now signed a multi-year, first look deal with Netflix through her Royal Ties production company.
Under the new agreement, King will produce film and series for the streaming giant, while her sister, Reina King, will serve as the head of production.
“I am beyond thrilled to join the Netflix family,” said Regina King in a statement. “They are at the top of their game and as an artist I am so excited to come play in this wonderful sandbox they have created for storytellers.”
King joins other high-profile stars, including Ava DuVernay, Beyonce and The Obamas, who have teamed up with Netflix for major, multi-project deals.
