(LOS ANGELES) — The stars of Disney’s Christopher Robin gathered for the live-action/CGI film’s premiere Monday night at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.
Ewan McGregor plays the title character — the boy we know from the A.A. Milne stories, all grown up, when Pooh and Tigger and the other beloved characters re-enter his life. McGregor tells ABC Radio the world of Pooh is place near and dear to him.
“Yes, I must have…read them all, I guess, or maybe not all of the books, but certainly the first one,” he says. “I’ve read them all to my kids, my four girls, and I’m so familiar with those stories.”
Hayley Atwell plays Christopher Robin’s wife. She was asked which character she most identifies with: Eeyore, Pooh, Tigger, or Piglet
“It depends on what day of the week. Sometimes I want to snack like Piglet,” says Atwell, adding, “I aspire to be like Pooh, because he seems to be the bear that lives in the moment with a natural [inquisitiveness] to life and an affinity with the people around him I think is wonderful and heartwarming.”
Christopher Robin opens nationwide on Friday. Disney is the parent company of ABC News.
