(LOS ANGELES) — Walking Dead superfan Yvette Nicole Brown, a frequent guest on AMC’s after-show, Talking Dead, will be moderating The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20.
While AMC hasn’t confirmed the news, Deadline reports that the Community and Mom actress — and self-described geek and former host of Cosplay Melee — will be standing in for Talking Dead‘s usual host, Chris Hardwick. AMC has sidelined Hardwick while it investigates his ex-girlfriend’s sexual assault allegations against him.
Hardwick denies the claims made by his ex, Chloe Dykstra, daughter of legendary Star Wars special effects Oscar-winner John Dykstra.
For the record, Brown made clear on Twitter that this Talking Dead stint is temporary. “I am filling in for a friend, which I have done before,” she notes. “I am not jockeying for a job. I have enough of my own.”
She adds, “It is my prayer that God’s Will is done in the midst of this process & that everyone is okay. My character is known & sound. Nothing has changed.”
Just about every Walking Dead cast member — including exiting star Andrew Lincoln, as well as Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan — is scheduled to appear at the panel, to be held at the San Diego Convention Center’s biggest venue, the 6,500-seat Hall H.
