(LOS ANGELES) — Ahead of its world premiere at the Fantasia Festival in Montreal on Friday, the first trailer for the Tales from the Hood sequel has arrived.
Similar to the original 1995 film, the spooky feature will be executive produced by Spike Lee and written/produced by former Chapelle’s Show directors Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott. It will also use the sinister funeral director Mr. Portifoy Simms to narrate the four short stories, which are all based on the harsh realities of the contemporary African-American experience.
In the new trailer, Simms, who is now played by Greenleaf pastor Keith David, is heard speaking as the clip shows images of a zombie invasion, a flesh eating doll, and a live possession.
Tales from the Hood 2 will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, digital and on-demand on October 2.
