Prosecutors are calling it the largest case of shoplifting in the history of Long Beach, California.
Florence Leslie Miller, 27, is facing 30 misdemeanor theft charges after police accused her of shoplifting handbags, jeans, and other items from the same TJ Maxx location over a ten-month period.
The value of each alleged theft was less than $950, but the grand total of all of them together was around $6,000.
City Prosecutor Douglas Haubert told the press last week that “I’ve never seen a person go this long without being caught.”
