A year after surviving a life-altering battle with brain cancer, Stephanie Louie and her husband Klarens, an active-duty military member, celebrated a fresh start with a dream wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. The couple first met over a decade ago and had five children together before Stephanie’s devastating diagnosis. Their wedding ceremony was made possible by the non-profit Wish Upon a Wedding, which organizes free weddings for couples facing serious medical challenges.
Stephanie underwent a challenging recovery after her tumor removal surgery, including losing the ability to speak. Klarens describes her as “incredible,” selflessly caring for others despite her own problems. Looking back on the difficult year, Stephanie credits her husband for his unwavering support, saying, “Without him, I don’t think I’d be where I am.” The ceremony is giving the couple a chance to begin anew as a family.
Local and national businesses came together to help pull off the special day for the couple. More than two dozen vendors donated their time, products, and services to help bring to life Klarens’ dream of giving Stephanie the wedding she always deserved. The ceremony was a turning point for the family, celebrating their strength and love after overcoming profound hardship.
